Evaluation of agreement between invasive and non-invasive blood pressure measurement using the PetMAP™ device in rabbits

چکیده
Background Measurement of arterial blood pressure is recommended in anaesthetized animals to guide perioperative treatment. Invasive measurement considered the gold standard, however it also technically challenging, requires specialised equipment and carries certain risks. For these reasons, non-invasive devices are commonly used expected provide accurate reliable results. This requirement particularly true for rabbits, whom peri-anaesthetic hypotension observed mortality remains disproportionally high. Several authors have compared different with invasive measurements rabbits reported contrasting However, date no comparison between PetMAP ™ device, that has been designed specifically veterinary medicine, reported. Aim hypothesis The aim study was rabbits. We hypothesised would show acceptable agreement according American College Veterinary Internal Medicine guidelines. Materials methods Sixteen client-owned presenting various surgical interventions were included study. performed by cannulation an auricular artery. cuff applied distal elbow manufacturer’s each , three values recorded. mean one value measured . Results Data collected from 16 statistical analysis. In clinical setting, device showed significant overestimation systolic, diastolic pressure, which addition, bias not constant, implying poorly predicted changes pressure. Conclusion did meet any recommendations.

Investigation of the agreement of a continuous non-invasive arterial pressure device in comparison with invasive radial artery measurement.
BACKGROUND Arterial pressure (AP) monitoring should be accurate, easy to use, free of risks, and ideally continuous. The continuous non-invasive arterial pressure (CNAP) device is non-invasive and provides continuous pressure readings. This study was performed to compare the agreement of CNAP and invasive AP monitoring. METHODS Ninety patients undergoing surgery under general anaesthesia were...
متن کاملAdaptive Non-invasive Blood Pressure Measurement
In this paper oscillometric method is used to develop an adaptive non-invasive blood pressure measurement system. To overcome the drawback of conventional oscillometric method an algorithm is developed. During the time of deflation and inflation process the step size of pressure pumped and released using pump and valve respectively is varied adaptively by continuously monitoring the feedback wh...
متن کاملLevel of agreement between Nexfin non-invasive arterial pressure with invasive arterial pressure measurements in children.
BACKGROUND We compared Nexfin non-invasive arterial pressure measurements using a novel small finger cuff with intra-arterial pressure in the paediatric setting in order to establish the level of agreement between both methods. METHODS The study included 41 children aged 2-16 yr admitted for surgery or paediatric intensive care with an intra-arterial catheter as part of standard monitoring. V...
متن کاملNon Invasive Blood Pressure
Alongside heart rate, Blood Pressure is one of the physiological parameters which has been measured by clinicians for the longest period of time: it was known to be important in the 16 century. It remains one of the most important physiological indicators to date and is also one of the more awkward parameters to measure. As has been discussed, blood is pumped round the body by the heart. The bl...
متن کاملEvaluation of human allogeneic collagen gel for correction of nasolabial folds using non-invasive measurement techniques
Background: With aging, the facial folds, grooves, and sagging tissue become more prominent. It is haracterized by loss of the collagen mass in the dermis and an increased array of elastin whirls in the deeper dermis. The aim of this study was to determine whether correction of nasolabial folds could be achieved using an allogeneic collagen product. Methods: Nine healthy volunteers participated...
